Bob is one of the greats. He has made portraits for so many grateful musicians, and been such a joy to work with that he should be better known! His work is on many covers for albums, tapes and CDs
The new down-loading of music has swept many great artists off their feet with cover art no longer needed! A whole creative dimension has been lost.

Here's a poem I wrote for Bob-

- MILES: (for Bob-san)-

Long clear notes
blended from time-mellowed brass,
cool blue lips
(puckered & dented like a wizards' brow)
and soulfull, resonances gleaned from celestial vibrations...

Notes torn from silence
like berries from a branch
chosen ripest and sweet-sour
Expressing messages plaintive as a lost bird,
or the doppler whine of a far away train...

Catharticly fused with electric urgency and verve
Blurting through textured rhythms,
kaleidoscopic psychedelia
or coalescences of proto-world-beat
grooves with hard as rock-steady blues
Gone... so far gone
man, gone...

& too freaking soon....
